Briana Williamson is a graduate student at Bowie State University. Briana will be graduating with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Briana is passionate about becoming an advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. As a counselor, Briana strives to assist individuals on recognizing and breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma within the family system. Briana’s professional experience as a case worker in the Washington D.C area and a Behavior technician in Maryland has given her a wider world view and an opportunity to explore various avenues of mental health.
Briana is a firm believer in the implementation of self-care. Briana takes pride in informing individuals about the importance of taking care of themselves mentally, physically, and emotionally. Briana herself enjoys journaling, reading, and listening to Neo-soul artists on a daily basis.
Lastly, Briana finds solace in the words spoken by the late Maya Angelou “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them”
