Kristel Roberts is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Washington, DC and a National Certified Counselor. She obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
Kristel is passionate about helping people achieve mental wellness because she believes that mental health is connected to physical health, and vice versa. People are capable of living healthy lives as long as they understand the importance of taking care of their mind, body, and soul or inner being.
Kristel is a psychotherapist who enjoys working with individuals, couples and groups. She uses culturally competent approaches and techniques that assist clients with increasing their self- awareness; achieving independence and integration; changing dysfunctional thoughts, emotions and behaviors to healthy ones; and establishing and maintaining healthy relationships. As such,
she often uses Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, and Holistic Therapy.
Specializing in pre-adolescent, adolescent and adult behavior issues, mood disorders, and emotional disturbances, she works with adolescents and adults of all ages who experience such symptoms as: trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and feelings of hopelessness. Her work with clients has included, but is not limited to: victims of domestic
violence relationships and/or sexual abuse; mood and personality disorders; co-dependency; post-traumatic stress disorder; anger management; stress management, and suicidal ideation. It is important that each client obtains mental wellness; therefore, Kristel works with clients by assisting them with establishing attainable goals to reach their fullest potential and identify their
self-worth. She recognizes that, while people share similar life experiences, each person is unique. This is the reason she tailors her approach in working with clients to meet them where they are mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
Kristel believes that counseling services are designed to assist you with finding balance, creating and achieving goals, feeling a sense of fulfillment, and establishing mental wellness.
