Biography
Katherine Reinckens, I am a licensed graduate professional counselor (LGPC) in the District of Columbia and National Certified School Counselor. I have been providing therapy for the past 3.5 years in the District. In this time I have gained more knowledge, commitment to leadership and adaptability best support clients. I have worked with youth, adolescents, and young adults in the urban community. During this time I have worked in the community in crisis management, supporting mental health initiatives, while fostering therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.
Through the knowledge and experience that I gained at Trinity Washington University and my I have been able to utilize multiple therapeutic modality in my practices consisting of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, person-centered, and child-centered play therapy to assist clients achieve their goals and my commitment to supporting clients in their goals by focusing on individual strengths.
I have provided professional developments in the field of Managing Anxiety during COVID-19, Emotional Management for Students during COVID-19, Self-Care and Wellness during COVID-19, Parent Communication, Zones of Regulation to Support Classroom Management, Emotional Regulation, The impact of Trauma, Loss, and Grief on Children.
As a counselor, I believe that everyone has a voice and is entitled to have that voice heard free from judgement or shame and I feel privileged to be a part of a client's journey.
