Genevieve S. Loving is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Washington, D.C. and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). As a Clinical Counselor, Genevieve obtained her Master’s in Counseling from The University of the District of Columbia. She has worked with adolescents for over 15 years helping them thrive academically, mentally, and socially. Genevieve’s theoretical orientation is an eclectic approach including Psychodynamic
Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and other therapeutic techniques. She incorporates therapeutic practices that help her clients navigate life's challenges by helping her clients acquire new and necessary skills and ways of learning.
She teaches clients how to be more self aware in order to promote self actualization to help change behaviors that cause problems in their daily lives. Her therapeutic practices including (CBT) help her clients look at their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and replace those negative thoughts with more positive and realistic ones. Genevieve specializes in working with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma. As she gets to know her clients, she works to develop a sense of fidelity and genuineness in the therapeutic relationship.
Genevieve is passionate about helping others live their full potential in life by helping them develop a growth mindset that enables them to take on life's challenges. “I help my clients understand their full potential not as a destination but rather a path and journey of liberation from their own self inflicted limitations and the limitations others try to put onto them”.
