I don’t know about you, but I was super excited for March.
I mean, a new month, Spring is approaching, which means more hours of daylight and less hours of cold, and let’s not forget… the onset of warmer weather.
As a September-born person, I get the opportunity of celebrating a full Spring and Summer with a close-out celebration (aka my ANNUAL birthday celebration) with all my folx. But this is one of the first times that I have been so excited for March. Here are the reasons why:
I get to check in on my goals, it’s nearly the end of Quarter 1 for 2022. I get to check to see if those vision statements and vision boards are coming true, and if not, I have another 30 days to make moves.
I get to check-in with nature. For you plant parents, this is the time of the year when we get to focus on repotting our babies, adding some extra goodies to their water (potassium via banana peels, fertilizer via store-bought or handmade, and more options via your plant time and preference), determine if they need a new location in the house, and sit back and appreciate the fact that we kept these babies alive and strong.
I get to sit outside a bit more. Fresh air is so important to our brains (I mean, it’s a chemical- O2- that mixes with all the other chemicals in our brains and allows the blood vessels to expand and produce greater flow of blood).
I get to see and hear more birds… and think about their lives and the parallelisms to my own life (freedom, family, food, flight, early rising, “breaking out a shell”, and so much more). I also get a chance to analyze and see if I am flying to the degree that I want, and towards the things I want to accomplish, including more rest.
Lastly, I get to sit in gratitude. I get to acknowledge that this Spring marks two years of living through the uncertainty of a pandemic; filtering information to determine what is right for me and my family, protecting myself physically and mentally, growing my business through unseen obstacles and towards miraculous opportunities, and accepting, if nothing else, that I made it; whether it’s been hard, easy, understandable, or unclear… I get to see a new Spring.
Oh, and did you notice I said “I get”… because I am framing all of this positively with the understanding that each thing I choose to do is an opportunity, not a chore, responsibility, or weight; it’s an opportunity for me, for my family, for my business, for my community, for my soul… again, for me!
